Illuminating Power of Words: The Jesus I Know.
Affix, letters attached to a root word that change the meaning of the word. John 1:1.” In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” We are all connected from this beginning.
We all have a divine connection to Our Creator, Our Source, God. At the root of us all, at the root of the multitude labels for the energy of creation and realms of existence, is our beginning. We have affixed elements of differentiation from that beginning. Our roots fostered, nourished, encumbered, and inhibited our Oneness.
We choose affixes to the words we use to define ourselves. This has a tendency to modify or obscure the elements of who we truly are. Ephesians 3: 16–19. “ that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith — that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians+3%3A16-19&version=ASV. Each biblical translation has differing nuances of wording for this passage.
To be filled with the fulness of God, or Source, we need to be rooted and grounded in love.
The root of who we are, divine humans, all connected, all encouraged to expand beyond survival, yet we choose to hang on. We waiver between our humanness and our divinity. Our divine roots, love. Our human roots, survival. We waver between inspiration and instinct. We carry burdens rather than process them. We share burdens in both loving and harming ways. Observe what you choose today!
Heal your roots from earthly affixations, allow your earthly beginning to connect to your divine beginning. After all, we are all rooted in love. Perfectly imperfect! 1 Corinthians 3:9: “For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.” Jesus walked this paradoxical walk, humanely divine, God and man, a living breathing imperfect field of God. He demonstrated overcoming affixations. Perfection is not the answer. Love is the answer. We have roots of commonness: suffering, human frailties. These roots also include dreams, means to innovate, overcoming challenges. Illuminate the focus, as Jesus modeled. He spent time in the wilderness going within AND time making connections between the paradoxes of the day. Yes, he walked through: war and peace (Roman occupation and appointment of King Herod for dominion and control); tax collectors who charged more than the government was asking; Old Testament interpretations of laws (stoning the adulterous woman as an example); feeding the body and the soul. In times of conflict, for those of all walks of life, Jesus demonstrated love, even breaking the laws of the Sabbath.
